Large Motor Yacht Brokers and Staff

At OYI it is important that we let you know our philosophy as brokers; to better understand the ways in which we might best assist you. As buyers' advocates our priority is to assist buyers from the base of our expertise as yachting specialists. All of our brokers have been involved as captains and/or brokers for periods of no less than 20 years to as long as 35 years. We are here to assist you in any way possible to buy or sell large yachts. By reviewing the brief summaries of our brokers and associates, we hope you will find the person best matching your requirements.

Yacht Broker John DeCaroYacht Broker & President John DeCaro: Born in Cleveland, Ohio, John moved to Jamaica temporarily when he was 4. Here his father introduced him to sailing and all things to do with the water. "He gave me a love for the sea that grew with me. The first boat I sailed on was a 38' wood sloop out of the Kingston Yacht Club." Earning a 500-Ton US Coast Guard Masters License, John has spent 18 years enjoying a life around the ocean logging over 80,000 nautical miles of experience. John has sailed on every ocean in the world.

Yacht Broker Vince KrivanekYacht Broker Vince Krivanek: Vince was born and raised in Oak Park, IL a western suburb of Chicago and graduated from the prestigious Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. After four years of computer related sales with national accounts in the city, at age 25 he moved his young family to Breckenridge, Colorado. In the mountains, he managed a Holiday Inn before owning and managing several restaurants. During the spring thaw of 1975 he journeyed to the Virgin Islands for a sailing charter and that lead to ten years of sailing and sometimes living in the USVI aboard his sailboat, CALYPSO.

Yacht Broker Steve ReochYacht Broker Steve Reoch: Steve sold his first large yacht in 1978. He spent his childhood getting on the decks of whatever boats he could, which included extensive yacht racing on Chesapeake Bay. While working on his degree in International Trade at American University in Washington, D.C., he lived and worked on an 87' 1916 converted ice cutter. After graduation he sailed to Europe. Yacht Broker Jim St. JulienYacht Broker Jim St. Julien: Jim St. Julien was born in Louisiana and grew up in New Orleans. He comes from a background of both the Aviation and Marine environment. Jim's father was a pilot for Delta and his grandfather owned a marina in South Louisiana. Jim was driving small inshore crew boats with oilfield workers during his summers when he was only 12 years old.

Gabriella McSwainGabriella McSwain: Born in Sweden to Swedish-Italian parents, Gabriella spent her childhood and in fact most of her life traveling through Europe where she learned to speak 5 languages fluently.

Her roots are from Sweden, where she grew up and attended school, and Venice, Italy, where her father still lives. Before retiring he worked as 1st officer in the merchant marine, and has had a tremendous influence on Gabriella's love of the ocean, different cultures and travel in general.
